Sparks Enjoy Home Cooking

Saratoga, New York - The heat was definitely on... temperatures in the upper nineties made basketball interesting this past weekend when the Saratoga Sparks participated in their annual Thoroughbred Classic. “It was like playing inside an oven” shared speedster Alexa “A-Train” Guy,

The Sparks were looking forward to playing a few local teams this weekend after weekend trips to both Rhode Island and Connecticut matched them with real stiff competition. The Sparks eight game road trip did produce a 4-4 outcome, but this weekend the Sparks were looking for more.

Their first game of the weekend was an early Saturday morning match-up against the Uncle Sam Lady Hoopsters. The Sparks got out early in the contest and took a quick ten point lead which they slowly built to twenty over the course of the game. Kayla “Just Give me the Dam Ball” Wheeler scored a game high nine while teammates Alaina “Shoot’m High and Make’m Cry” Greco and Andrea “Bam Bam” Mangione each scored eight to lead the Sparks to a convincing 49-40 victory.
