Sparks Pull Jeckel and Hyde

The biggest shot of the game however happened with 1:37 left in regulation. Gabriella “Grip it and Rip it” Levine received a one handed pass from “Prime Time” Clemente streaking down the sideline. “Grip It” received the pass and stepped calmly behind the three point line deep in the right corner. The Maginn standout drained the shot and secured the Sparks 45-41 victory.

“It a nice feeling after you see the ball snap the net... 'Didn't realize that my shot sealed the game until I peeked up at the scoreboard” shared the second year Golden Griffin.

The Sparks won the first game of the weekend and achieved one of their team goals for the tournament. “This is the type of competition we should be seeing at Penn State, we have to start learning that when you travel to play basketball you have to be ready to play your best as soon as you step off the bus… if you love the game it should be no problem” shared coach Csakany at the post game news conference.

The second game of the day pitted the hometown team against the Connecticut North Stars. Once again the girls from Saratoga brought with them a solid level of intensity. The Sparks got out to a small led and managed to hold on to it from start to finish. Once again Kayla “Wheels in the Sky” Wheeler lead the scoring attack with ten points while teammates “Bam Bam” Mangione and Amelia “My Favorite” Martin combined to score sixteen to help the Sparks clip the North Stars 54-51
